POLLUTEC 2010
Annual exhibition POLLUTEC, in Lyon Eurexpo, gives a special focus on environnemental technologies. It will happen from 30th November to 3rd December 2010.

At this exhibition, we will show our know-how, specifically in the environnemental sector :

ENVIRONMENTAL FOCUS
Storage and discharge of difficult products ( mud, sludge, and solid waste).
Sliding frame and screw bottom units.
Lessines Industries got since years a larger and larger experience in the design and production of storage and discharging systems. The processed products are biomass and mud from water treatment units;
Application examples :
- Mud treatment in feeding regularly a pump for lime treatment, or a paddle mixer ( when really dry mud )
- Mud dosing and feeding system into a treatment unit ( grinders, mixers, ... ) of green waste, alternative fuel, etc
- Mud discharge into a lorry, for road transport.
Storage is designed in a round silo or a rectangular hopper. The bottom is made of concrete or steel, or even a combination of polyester and steel.
Lessines Industries design and produce also the attached conveying systems ( screw or chain conveyors ) in order to have the full responsibility of such installations.
The last references in this field are in the public sector : Albi (F), Nantes (F) Ollainville (F) Pays Rochois (F).
Other installations were delivered in industrial stations.
INDUSTRIAL FOCUS
Bulk products logistic
Marine transportation of bulk products is an increasing development in the world economy, for instance in the sugar industry. Sugar is today transported in marine containers, with a plastic lining, to protect the sugar quality.
This container (generally 20') are filled from silos, in a very short time, due to the "Lessines container loader" ,LCP, designed according to the Atex norms, as sugar powder may be explosive.
Such LCP are already operated in some countries in Europe and Middle East.
A few products, which match specific physical characteristics(corn size, moisture, free flowing, temperature, etc....) may be processed in the LCP : A commissioning engineer of Lessines Industries grants the right performance on site of this equipment.

CHEMICALS
- Fluidization for lumped material in a big-bag discharging station : de delumper is placed directly below the big-bag. Machine is heavily sized to work under this load. Stainless steel fabrication.
- Delumper on various chemical products, before a pneumatic transport. Stainless steel AISI316 fabrication with a set of screen for the various products. Certified ATEX 20/22
FOOD
- Primary grinding to feed a pin mill. Soft product. Easy removal rotor and screen for sterilization.
MINERALS
Solid fuel preparation prior cement and lime kiln.

OUR MIXING & STORAGE/EXTRACTIONS SOLUTIONS FOCUSED ON ENVIRONMENT CARE
I. Paddle mixers
Lessines Industries manufactures single or double shaft paddle mixers.
Applied to environmental applications, these machines allow incorporating powders (e.g. lime, toner, washing powders,...) into liquids, pastes or sludges in order to produce fuel pastes or agriculture ground improvement products.
Our recent applications are :
1. PRODUCTION OF FUEL PASTE
Customized Technology : Work under inert atmosphere conditions, with oxygen fraction control. Stainless steel execution.
2. LIMING OF SEWAGE SLUDGE
Customized Technology : Integration in an existing sewage sludge installation in replacement of a poor-efficiency pump to mix lime and mud. Very limited space available. Stainless steel execution.
3. MIXING OF FLOCULATING AGENT & BIOMETHANIZATION RESIDUE
Customized Technology : single shaft plough shear mixer, stainless steel execution, resistant to 2 bar internal pressure. Installation in ATEX 2 zone
II. Storage, Extraction and Dosing Systems
The storage and extraction of solid products in flat-bottom, round or rectangular, silos has become over years a centre of expertise of Lessines Industries.
The slow alternative motion of the scraper ensures the non-bridging and the optimal filling of the bottom-mounted screws.
These systems, although often used for sewage sludges, are also very efficient with products like biomass (plants, sawdust and wood pellets, etc) and various wastes (plastics, domestic wastes, etc).
Recent applications :
1. COMPOST AND GREEN WASTE
The product is pulled by the scraper to one side of the silo. It is then undertaken by a screw and a belt conveyor.
Customized Technology : fitting of a scraper in a silo based on a standard 20' ISO container.
2. SEWAGE SLUDGE
Customized Technology : Retrofitting of a scraper into an existing rectangular silo with 4 bottom-mounted extracting screws. The bridging did not allow the system to work efficiently. Our system corrected the problem.
3. GREEN WASTE BEFORE BIOMETHANIZATION
The product is stored in a rectangular 30m³ flat-bottom silo. The twin-ladder extractor pushes the product to one side of the silo. The dosing is ensured by the variable translating speed of the ladders. Output capacity: 7 to 54 m³/h.
Customized Technology : stainless steel execution.
4. SEWAGE SLUDGE
Customized Technology : this is up to now our biggest silo scraper, fitted in a 7m diameter silo.

Disagglomerator for hydrated lime
Lessines industries has developed and manufactured a mill, centrifugal type, able to process 25 tph hydrated lime prior to silo storage. After lime hydratation, the goal is to achieve a homogeneous granulometry, ready for delivery, at a constant quality.
Size of the rotor and beaters need a rigorous dynamic balancing.
Customized Technology :
Wear resistant coating suitable for application and non contamination ot the product.
Vibration free.
ISO CONTAINER SUGAR LOADING
Sugar market is on the move ! Export markets use easily maritime transport in container, due to low cost and ensure return freight. Lessines Industries has developed and manufactured a container loader "LCP" fulfilling with ATEX regulations imposed by the sugar.
This LCP loader allows to load 26 tons of sugar in 10 minutes, in a 20' container equipped with liner. This equipment is hung directly to the container. The container remains on the truck.
The truck is positioned under the sugar silo. Liner is adjusted to the LCP feeding, is expanded to allow filling. After filling, liner is closed, LCP equipment is removed from the container with a fork lift and truck is ready to leave. This operation lasts less than 25 minutes.
Other products can be loaded with this machine : coffee, cocoa, plastic pellets, wood chips, cereals, fertilizer, and, in general, all granular products.

Biconical blender for plastic pellets
Lessines industries has studied and delivered a bicone rotating drum blender, high capacity, to homogenize coloured plastic granules (# 3 à 4 mm) for automotive industry.

Stainless steel fabrication (low rugosity) to ensure a complete emptying.
Automatic blender positioning for loading and discharge.
Welding flux thermal treatment
Lessines Industries has designed and installed a rotary dryer integrated in a welding flux manufacturing line.
The product is fed with 10 % moisture in the counter-current rotary dryer. This dryer is installed inside a insulated hood, allowing the temperature control of the dryer shell. Drying occurs in a direct contact of both the hot air and the hot shell surface.
Product exits the dryer at about 200°C with a residual moisture of 0.5 % max.
Hot air is produced directly from natural gas burner.

Special coated plates at dryer inlet to avoid material to stick.
